Front-End - Web Based - Java Developer

Large Financial Company/ NYC

Mid or Senior Level -depending on person

125-150K base -depending on experience

Must have strong expertise in web based front end Java (Java, JSP/ XSLT).
Must have strong Javascript with one of the following: AJAX, Dojo, Google Web Toolkit, jQuery, or FLEX

Position Description

Senior Web Application/Tools Developer - Credit risk systems
Design and implement a suite of tools to aid in the support of strategic Credit Risk DataMart. Candidate will design and implement metadata driven tools to provide users w/ the ability to drill into data, navigate data relationships, and understand data flows. The system will support a large and complex data application. The toolkit will provide data transparency to users and the support team. Done properly, this suite will drastically reduce the current team's support burden, enabling the team to focus on the strategic direction of the platform. The right person will be a self-starter, able to understand the fundamental problems being addressed in order to propose and build an effective suite of applications.

Skills Required
The ideal candidate would possess superior front-end application development skills, excellent problem solving skills, and creativity. 5+ years hands on experience with web portal development in Java / JSP / XSLT as well as experience in c#/WinForms. Advanced Javascript experience like AJAX, Dojo, Google Web Toolkit, jQuery, or FLEX a must. Experience with perl and shell scripts is also necessary.

Skills Desired

Spring, XQuery, Hibernate, Web services, DB2
Exposure to financial products and risk management.
Exposure to counterparty risk, margining, collateral or confirmation systems.
