This is the Software Infrastructure Group which is a firm-wide team serving the whole company. They develop libraries for other development teams, eg: libraries for messaging, databases, web services, security, networking. This group does not directly support any trading businesses. They look for developers with very deep expertise in coding - on down to very low levels of how language interacts with HARDWARE. Thus, knowledge of Unix/Linux operating system is big plus. They like geeky type. Person must have Computer Science degrree, ideally at Masters level. Not right group for person looking for exposure to trading business. Perfect for quirky intellectual types. Group wants to hire 2 developers. Pay 100-125K base +bonus.
