Our client is one of the world’s leading financial firms. The Price Server team is responsible for writing market data feed handlers for exchanges in North American and distributing real-time to various groups and systems including Order Management Systems, algorithmic trading engines, and proprietary trading desks. With the constant increase in market data volumes and business requirements there is an increased focus on throughput, latency, and reliability of market data distribution systems. Downtime in Market Data distribution is highly visible to our clients.

5+ years experience in Java on Unix systems

Expert knowledge of core Java.

Strong knowledge of data structures and algorithms is required.

Strong knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP) and network programming in Java is required.

Experience writing high performance, low-latency, real-time applications in a fast paced environment

Experience performance testing and tweaking applications to minimize latency on Java.
Experience writing market data feed handlers.

Preference will be given to candidates that have already worked with Market Data (US or Canadian Equities, Futures, options)

Experience writing severs that support pub / sub is a strong plus.

Multithreaded development experience is a plus.

Knowledge of Unix internals is a plus.

Experience developing in C++ is a plus

Understanding of Level 1, level 2, quotes, and trades is a strong plus.

Knowledge of how Equity markets function is a plus.
