Notes from conversation with manager:
This is a new group which is setting up a new PMO for corp technology covering Finance, Legal, Compliance, HR. It's a large, global organization. The organization is led out of London by the Program manager for the London office. The NYC program is expected to be ramped up to team of 10 PM's. As this is a new group with a new PMO being set up, any senior candidates, must have experience not only working in a PMO, but setting one up for a large organization; this organization will have a $4B budget. They must also demonstrate they're self sufficient, self starters in order to be productive in this newly formed group. Most or all of the projects will be software development projects so all PM's must have strong background project managing software development initiatives and they must have deep understanding of SDLC and related concepts. Ideally, the PM would even have a prior background in software develpoment, but strong high level knowledge of OO development practices and SDLC will suffice. The person MUST also bring some domain expertise to the table. It's not sufficient to have an expert knowledge of PMO and Project Management Methodologies - Person must have some knowledge of one of the business vertical's, eg: Finance or Accounting. Person must also have thorough knowledge and experience with change management. Must also have experience/ability to interact with C-Level executives. Mgr would prefer someone with experience dealing with / working btwn multiple organizations.
