We are the Global Trading Data and Analytics Team responsible for
capturing and storing market data on a tick-by-tick basis for all
instruments in the Equity asset class for all markets across the
globe, and producing analytical products for our internal traders and
external clients based on this data. Our goal is to build the next
generation data and analytics platform to benefit numerous lines of
business effectively, efficiently and with optimal flexibility.
Our products center on providing clients with intelligent analytical
tools in the pre-trade, intraday and post-trade phases of trading,
which further strengthens the firm’s position as a market leader in
this space. These products benefit lines of business across the globe,
including: Equities Capital Markets, Equities Derivatives, Cash
Equities and Program/Portfolio Trading. We are headquartered in

About the Position
The position is for an experienced core Java developer to contribute
to the development of pre-trade, intraday and post-trade analytical
products in this space. This is a critical role that will have a
significant impact on various lines of business within the investment
bank. The successful candidate will be responsible for design,
development and enhancement of these products; will ensure consistent
functional and technical design; will deliver clear, concise technical
design documentation and code; will be involved in the full project
life cycle including requirements analysis, design, development,
testing and production rollout.
Our products are built in Java and use a variety of 3rd party products
such as Tibco EMS, Kx Systems Kdb+, Oracle, Informatica, Transact
Tools Fix engine, and various web technologies.
About You
You are smart, innovative, talented, resourceful, self-motivated,
high-energy and passionate. You have the ability to work both
individually and part of a team, contributing to the overall success
of the platform. You have had at least 5 years of strong experience
with Java, object-oriented design and have had at least three
consecutive successful years at a financial institution doing similar
work in any business line (fixed income, equities or any type of
derivatives) and have developed areas of significant technical and
business expertise. You have been exposed to some of the following:
pre-trade analytics, post-trade analytics, order management,
algorithmic trading, enterprise data warehouse, FIX protocol,
real-time market data, web services. You are an efficient programmer
who provides an excellent level of service for your production
environments and can debug and troubleshoot ambiguous issues. You can
multitask and work effectively under pressure and with tight
deadlines.
You have experience with Linux, Java, SQL and in-memory databases,
CEPs, middleware such as EMS, advanced multi threading/synchronization
and distributed computing. You are adept with debugging tools and
analyzing complex distributed systems.
