Position Description:

The secured funding application development team at this Top Tier Bank is looking for a senior C# GUI developer to join the team in New York. The team is responsible for the technology to support the repo desk.

They will be able to demonstrate a strong track record of developing C# GUI applications for investment banks/hedge funds; facing off to trading desk staff to gather high-level requirements, turning them into a working application and then deploying that application. They will understand what it takes to create a great UI and be passionate about doing this.

They will be working on the firm's global repo trading platform, delivering new functionality to support the growth of the business. They will lead a team of 2 other C# developers, also based in NY. They will be part of a global team and will need to interact with team members in other regions.

In addition to hands on development, the candidate will be expected to regularly interact with traders to gather requirements, lead UI design, review prototype screens and manage the deployment of new software releases.

Experience of the repo, securities lending or collateral management business, while not required, will be desirable and the candidate will be expected to quickly build an understanding of the business model. The candidate must be able to demonstrate they have an good understanding of the business areas they have worked with previously.

Must Have:
Investment bank/hedge fund/capital markets knowledge - equivalent experience to at least 5 years
C# multi-threaded winforms .NET 2 development - equivalent experience to at least 5 years
UI design of investment banking applications - equivalent experience to at least 5 years
N-tier distributed trading systems - equivalent experience to at least 5 years
Deep knowledge of at least 1 UI component suite (Infragistics/Syncfusion/DevExpress) - equivalent experience to at least 3 years
Interaction with trading desk users - equivalent experience to at least 3 years
Team leading of small technical teams - equivalent experience to at least 3 years
Proven ability to deliver high-quality software working in multi-person / multi-region teams - equivalent experience to at least 3 years

Should Have:
Experience of Repo, Securities Lending or Collateral Management.
Experience of using agile development practices.
Experience of project management
WPF .NET 3
SOAP.
XML.
Messaging middleware (MQ/Tibco etc)
